From 13th to 15th July 2022, the collaborative ICCHP-AAATE conference took place in Lecco, Italy. Digital accessibility and assistive technologies were the focus for researchers and professionals to present their work and exchange and network with each other. SHUFFLE was also present and contributed to the conference programme with a paper and three poster presentations:

  • Paper:
Evaluating Collaborative Editing of AI-Generated Live Subtitles by Non-Professionals in German University Lectures (AP04)
  • Poster:
MELVIN: Multi-user editor for creating and editing live captions (AP04)
  • Poster:
Using Design Thinking Methods in Developing a Digital Accessibility Resource Website (AP06)
  • Poster:
An Analysis of the Accessibility Issues of the Learning Management System ILIAS (AP09)

Staff from all partner universities in the project came together for a week in a holiday flat near the venue. On Monday and Tuesday, the focus was on professional exchange within the team in the form of workshops, before we were able to take part in the conference programme from Wednesday to Friday. With an outside temperature of well over 30°C, there was no shortage of swimming together in Lake Como after a long day’s work.

With many valuable contacts, multi-layered impressions and new motivation for the topic of digital accessibility, we are now back in Germany.
